Germany-based fashion retailer Gerry Weber is replacing its RFID system with Tyco Retail Solution’s technology, as it looks to gain a more accurate view of stock across its business operations.
Tyco describes the retailer as “an RFID pioneer in the fashion sector” because it has been using the technology since 2009, and already has around 30 million items per year equipped with RFID tags. The tech is used to improve the organisation’s logistics, retail processes and loss prevention strategies.
In an effort to enhance inventory accuracy and in-store stock availability, Gerry Weber will deploy Tyco’s TrueVue Inventory Visibility application for a number of functions, namely receiving, cycle counting, product locating, point of sale, loss prevention, sales floor replenishment and merchandise transfer.
According to the tech firm, the deployment will result in RFID-enabled visibility into exact quantity and location of items by style, size and colour, as well as helping ensure on-floor availability.
Tyco will also provide Gerry Weber with professional services to manage the RFID project.
