PromoWest Productions has officially announced its plans for the PromoWest Fest, a three day, three stage music festival taking place July 15th-17th in the Arena District. The festival will feature over 40 local, regional, and national acts such as Milky Chance, Snoop Dogg, Walk the Moon, Forest & The Evergreens, LL Cool J, and Lindsey Stirling. The PromoWest Fest is set to host 20,000 attendees stretching from McFerson Park where the first stage will be located, to Spring Street which will be closed off for vending and concessions stands, all the way to North Bank Park, though the first stage will not shut down Nationwide Boulevard.
Every year PromoWest hosts nearly 750 shows, and the company is looking to make the Promowest Fest its staple summer event attracting music lovers from across the Midwest. Additional acts announced for the 2016 debut event include Modest Mouse, Brand New, Ryan Adams, Tears for Fears, Mac Miller, The Decemberists, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Fitz & The Tantrums, All Time Low, Garba
ge, X Ambassadors, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, Moon Taxi, Atlas Genius, The Wombats, Black Lips, AlunaGeorge, RJD2, The Dear Hunter, Red Wanting Blue, Black Pistol Fire, Austin Plaine, Grizfolk, Holy White Hounds, The World is a Beautiful Place & I am no Longer Afraid to Die, Banners, Mimicking Birds, Pup, Coast Modern, Finish Ticket, Copywrite, Nick D & The Believers, Lonesome as Gold, Way Yes and The Worn Flints.
The music festival will be cashless and paperless, a concept that is intended to be more friendly towards Millennials. Using RFID-enabled technology, after the ticket has been purchased online the customer will then receive an RFID wristband in the mail as early as June. Then the customer may register their preferred credit or debit card to the wristband’s account creating a ‘digital wallet’.
