First, put UHF RFID tags on all items or outer packaging, and record them into the computer system uniformly. There are not only pictures, but also related codes in the system. Be aware that many different lab items look very similar. And traditional labels, after a long time or encountering chemical reagents, the code is easy to spend, and it is not easy to check. Not to mention some reagents that are more expensive than gold, once the package is adjusted, the laboratory will suffer huge losses.

Although the pre-entry work of tens of thousands of products still took a while. But when the job is done, the relocation is a lot easier. The new laboratory has thirty rooms. In order to avoid misplacement of items, we placed UHF card readers at the entrance of each laboratory during the relocation. The card reader has a reading distance of 3-5 meters for the label, which ensures that every item moved into the room can be entered into the system.
After the relocation
Just check the list and quantity, you can immediately find out if there is anything missing. It is also possible to know what items are in each room. If the item is moved to the wrong room, as long as the system is one-click query, you can know which room the specified item is now in. Then take a UHF handheld to the room, and scan it to get the precise location of the item.
Long-term Benefits
This work is not only a perfect solution to the moving problem. In the future, laboratory asset management has also become very convenient. At the entrance of the laboratory building, an ultra-high frequency card machine is installed. Once a laboratory asset leaves the laboratory (even if it is hidden in a bag and hidden in clothes, it can still be read); the system will record the event accurately to the second. With the camera, any asset entering or leaving the laboratory is under the control of the manager. The inventory work that was originally carried out once every few months can now be carried out anytime, anywhere. Because in just 20 minutes, a staff member can do the inventory work that would otherwise take days. This is truly breathtaking.
